Terms & Conditions

Last updated: April 21, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using the Security Connect website ("the Site") or engaging us to provide security, CCTV, alarm, access control, or smart home services ("the Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must not use the Site or engage our Services.

2. About Security Connect

Security Connect Pty Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is a Western Australian licensed security installer and electrical contractor operating under Security Agent Licence SA 55192 and Electrical Contractor Licence EC 11029. We provide professional installation of CCTV, alarm systems, access control, smart locks, intercoms, and home automation systems across Perth and Western Australia.

3. Quotes and Pricing

  • All quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless otherwise stated in writing.
  • Prices are inclusive of GST unless marked otherwise. Pricing is subject to change if the scope of works varies from the original site survey.
  • Hardware availability and pricing may change without notice. Equivalent products may be substituted where an item is discontinued.
  • Any additional works requested after the quote is accepted will be documented as a variation and charged at the rates in the original quote.

4. Deposits and Payment

  • A deposit may be required to confirm your booking. Your installation date is only secured once cleared funds are received.
  • Final payment is due on completion of works and before any handover documentation, warranty certificates or administrator credentials are provided.
  • Accepted payment methods include EFT, credit card (surcharge may apply), and approved finance. Overdue invoices attract interest at 10% p.a. and recovery costs may be passed on to the customer.

5. Cancellations and Changes

  • Cancellations made more than 5 business days before the scheduled installation will receive a full refund of the deposit, less any non-returnable equipment costs already incurred.
  • Cancellations made within 5 business days of the scheduled installation may forfeit the deposit to cover scheduling, procurement and labour allocation.
  • Rescheduling is subject to technician availability and should be requested as early as possible.

6. Installation and Site Access

You agree to provide safe, lawful access to the property on the agreed installation date(s), including access to the main switchboard, roof cavity, crawlspace, or any other area required to complete the work. You warrant that you are the owner of the property, or that you have the owner's written permission for the installation, including any drilling, cabling or 240V alterations.

7. Warranty

  • Workmanship warranty: Two (2) years on installation labour from the date of completion, extendable up to five (5) years under our premium service plan.
  • Equipment warranty: Passed through from the manufacturer. Typical warranties are 2–5 years depending on the brand.
  • Warranty claims must be reported to us in writing. We will diagnose, repair or replace at our discretion during business hours. After-hours callouts are chargeable unless a monitored service contract is in place.
  • Warranty is void where the system has been tampered with, modified by a third party, damaged by power surge (without appropriate surge protection installed), lightning strike, flood, fire, vermin, misuse, or failure to pay in full.

8. Monitoring and Cloud Services

Where we provide back-to-base alarm monitoring, smartphone app access, or cloud video storage, those services are delivered on a month-to-month subscription basis. Continued access depends on your subscription being up to date. Third-party app platforms (e.g. Hik-Connect, Control4, Alarm.com) are subject to their own terms of use and availability.

9. Privacy and CCTV Footage

You are responsible for complying with the Surveillance Devices Act 1998 (WA) and the Australian Privacy Principles in your use of any CCTV system we install. We do not routinely store or access recorded footage except where required for service, diagnostic or support purposes — and only with your consent. See our Privacy Policy for further information.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability under these Terms is limited to the total amount paid by you for the relevant installation. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental loss, including (but not limited to) loss of property due to burglary, loss of data, loss of profits, or downtime of any security system. No security or surveillance system can guarantee prevention of criminal activity.

11. Consumer Guarantees

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law. Where a statutory guarantee applies and cannot be excluded, our liability for breach is limited (at our election) to repair, replacement, or refund of the affected goods or services.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on the Site — including text, graphics, logos, photos and video — is the property of Security Connect or its licensors and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce or redistribute material from the Site without our prior written consent.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia. Any dispute arising under or in connection with these Terms will be determined exclusively by the courts of Western Australia.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site or our Services after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
